This content is designed for participants in Anti Entropy's [SparkWell](https://www.antientropy.org/sparkwell) fiscal sponsorship program. While some context will be specific to SparkWell and may need more context, we've made these resources public because they may, nevertheless, be useful to others who may be founding or building an organization. Who this is for: Project Leads on SparkWell projects that receive a grant recommendation from Coefficient Giving. ## Why this documentation matters This article guides you through what to expect once your project has been recommended for funding by Coefficient Giving. It covers what needs to happen before the money becomes available for your project. ## What is Coefficient Giving [Coefficient Giving](https://coefficientgiving.org/), formerly known as Open Philanthropy, is a philanthropic research and advisory organization. It does not hold most of the funds it recommends. Instead, it submits its recommendation to a grantmaking entity or an external funding partner, such as a donor-advised fund or a partner foundation. When your grant is approved, you'll receive an email naming the specific fund or partner that will pay you. ## What to send Anti Entropy at the beginning When Coefficient Giving indicates that they are going to make a grant recommendation to your sponsored project, let your Program Manager know. Forward the following to your SparkWell Program Manager as you receive them: - The original notification email from Coefficient Giving. - **You do not sign anything**; Anti Entropy signs on your project's behalf. ## What to expect You're going to receive an email from Coefficient Giving that begins the due diligence process. 1. **Due diligence links.** Coefficient Giving will share two links to launch its due diligence process: - **A general information link** - You can find Anti Entropy's legal name, EIN, and mailing address, etc. [Anti Entropy's information here](https://www.antientropy.org/about). - List Anti Entropy's Managing Director as the signatory. - **A payment logistics link.** - Choose ACH as the payment method. - List yourself as the primary contact. - Find the ACH information in your Mercury account. - If you need support locating the Mercury account information, contact your Program Manager. 2. **Handoff to the paying entity.** Once both links are submitted, the process moves to the fund or partner named in the notification email. That entity may contact you directly and send the grant agreement to Anti Entropy. At this point, it will also start including Anti Entropy on emails. 3. **Grant Agreement.** Sometimes there is no grant agreement, only an award letter. If there is a grant agreement, Anti Entropy will sign it. - Anti Entropy will review any grant restrictions included in the grant agreement. 4. **Payment.** The paying entity initiates payment once the agreement or award letter is finalized. This can take up to four weeks. - Once your funds arrive, notify your Coefficient Giving evaluator. ## Related resources - [Fiscal Sponsorship](https://resourceportal.antientropy.org/docs/fiscal-sponsorship) - [Anti Entropy Company Information](https://resourceportal.antientropy.org/docs/anti-entropy-company-information) - [SparkWell Receiving a Grant Guidance: What to Do](https://resourceportal.antientropy.org/docs/sparkwell-receiving-a-grant-guidance-what-to-do) - [Due Diligence for Grants](https://resourceportal.antientropy.org/docs/due-diligence-for-grants) - [Grant Funds Start Guide](https://resourceportal.antientropy.org/docs/grant-funds) The primary point of contact at Anti Entropy for SparkWell fiscally sponsored projects.
