# Remote Work Policy (US)

## About This Policy

A policy for remote workers that outlines eligibility, allowances, reimbursements, security, and basic expectations.

## Who Needs This Policy

Any organization wanting to provide clear expectations and mitigate risk with remote workers.

## When Using This Policy

Expectations regarding compensation and reimbursement for office expenses, setup, hardware, and software can vary from organization to organization. Below are typical reimbursement caps for remote work; however, it will be up to your organization to set the cap limit and what items you will provide and/or reimburse.

- Basic = $200-$350 for office set-up
- Standard = $500 - $750 for office set-up with some hardware and/or software provided
- Generous = $1,000+ for office set-up and $1,000/year continuing education allowance

A typical monthly allowance to cover monthly office costs (ex. wifi, electricity, rent ) for remote workers is $100-$200. This monthly allowance is in addition to the above one-time capped reimbursements.
