Nonresidents looking to do temporary unpaid charity work in the UK that require a visa.

This is a temporary visa for those who want to do unpaid voluntary work for a charity.

To be qualified, you must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 18 years old at the time of application
  • Have a certificate of sponsorship from a UK sponsor (the charity organization has a sponsor licence)
  • Financial evidence
    • You will need to have at least Β£1,270 in your personal bank account, and the amount should be consistent for at least 28 days in a row.
    • Or you can show that the employer can cover the costs during your first month in the UK, up to Β£1,270

Applying for a Charity Worker visa

  1. Prepare the following documents:
    1. Certificate of sponsorship reference number
    2. Valid passport or other identification documents
    3. Financial evidence
    4. Tuberculosis test for certain countries

A decision will be made within 3 weeks. If your application is approved, you can stay up to 12 months or the time stated on the certificate of sponsorship plus 14 days, whichever is shorter. You can enter the UK for up to 14 days before the start date of your job.
