Any organization wanting to provide clear expectations and mitigate risk with remote workers.

When Using This Policy

Expectations regarding compensation and reimbursement for office expenses, setup, hardware, and software can vary from organization to organization. Below are typical reimbursement caps for remote work; however, it will be up to your organization to set the cap limit and what items you will provide and/or reimburse.

  • Basic = $200-$350 for office set-up
  • Standard = $500 - $750 for office set-up with some hardware and/or software provided
  • Generous = $1,000+ for office set-up and $1,000/year continuing education allowance

A typical monthly allowance to cover monthly office costs (ex. wifi, electricity, rent ) for remote workers is $100-$200. This monthly allowance is in addition to the above one-time capped reimbursements.
