These resources are specifically designed for SparkWell program participants. While other organizations may find them valuable for reference, some materials reference program-specific processes, timelines, and requirements that apply only within the SparkWell fiscal sponsorship context.
As a fiscally sponsored project under Anti Entropy, you may be eligible for nonprofit discounts on various software and tools. However, the application process and outcomes can vary significantly across platforms.
What to Expect
SparkWell Projects have had very mixed results when applying for nonprofit discounts. Some Projects have been immediately approved, while others have been denied. In one case, a Project went through extensive back-and-forth communication and was ultimately told no—but when they reapplied, they were immediately approved.
The inconsistency often stems from how different platforms handle fiscal sponsorship arrangements. Some platforms readily accept fiscally sponsored projects, while others don't recognize fiscal sponsorship at all or have unclear policies about it.
If you're unsure about how to approach a specific platform, you may want to check with your Project Liaison before applying.
What You'll Need
When applying for nonprofit discounts, you'll typically need:
- Project name and description
- Anti Entropy's EIN (Employer Identification Number)
- Anti Entropy's IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter
- Fiscal Sponsorship Agreement
Platforms may also ask for:
- Letter from Anti Entropy confirming your project operates under their 501(c)(3) status
- Anti Entropy's bylaws
- Confirmation from someone at Anti Entropy (such as your Project Liaison)
Your Project Liaison can provide any of these documents that you need for your application.
